Stupid Mall Music |
|
So I get these spam messages. Nothing new, something that my name got on a list blah blah blah and I get about one message away from the company. So naturally, since it is a company, not porn, I click on the unsubscribe list hoping in vain it will go away. Next day I get another email. Damnit. A month goes by. I get tired and attempt to unsubscribe. Couple days later and I get another email. Ok, maybe third times the charm? Wrong. Not only do I get another email the next day, I get TWO. Two in one day! So I send a nasty email in response hoping in desperation it will work. Wrong. I get another email today. Maggie.Mcknight@Active-Realm.com has me beat. Well, I have off tomorrow at EMS, and only three days after that. Sweet. Christmas Eve was officially the last day of the hell that is known as Christmas music, however the mall itself didn't seem to get that memo. When my manager turned off the music when the store closed and we started to tidy up we could hear the music over the intercom system. I spent the first 15 minutes listening to "Frosty the Snowman" and "These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things." I guess technically those don't count as Christmas songs, but rather "winter" songs and sort of get mixed in with the holiday theme. My manager actually said the same thing as he was counting money at the register so it seems we both were equally disturbed by the choice in music. But then my theory was disproved by the fact that after the non Christmas winter songs they played "Noel" and some other Christmas stuff, so whatever. I officially have a love/hate relationship with KOP. Saw Paycheck last night which I mentioned in the last entry but I thought I would go over it again. As I sat in the theater about an hour into the movie I was trying to figure out if I liked it or not. I came to the conclusion at the end that I really did enjoy the movie, though it was nothing like I thought it was going to be. I mean, the ending and most of the action sequences were predictable, but it terms of plot and basic premise the previews really didn't explain the movie too well. Initially I had thought it was about the CIA, but it turns out Ben Affleck was some kind of engineer in the future. Sort of a Minority Report meets Bourne Identity. It was an enjoyable Friday night movie. My goal for next semester is to read more outside books during the school year. Normally I make it a rule not to read during the school year, but what else have I got to do? Reading, more music, and more trips to the museum. I haven't watched a single episode of cough General Hospital cough since I have been home, which is probably because I have been working so much. Whatever, I'll try and cut down on that at school. Though the probability of all that happening is slim, so odds are a good dose of TV and sitting in the room are in order for the New Year. Bax(e)ter |
